TIME AND TIDE

Time & Tide with pin
Of time and tide...inspired by shorelines everywhere but modeled here by Malibu beach in California, this new convergence of yarns is awash in the seashore's textured mystery. Time and Tide will be among the first of Adorned and Inspired's 'yarnscapes', a yarnscape being a collection of yarns handpicked by me to evoke a mood, a spirit or a landscape which can be purchased in tandom with my patterns in a kit or otherwise. Each yarnscape will include at least one silk, one textured yarn, one ribbon, one 'diva' plus an assortment of complementary colors. Time and Tide, for example, features Great A's Hot Surprise mixed with hand-dyed silk and gourmet ribbonry plus a myriad of other artful textures.
Each yarnscape will also have as part of its optional extras one of these glorious shawl pins. Aren't they stunning? The artist, Carol, is making them for each yarnscapes. Other optional extras will include jewelry (both finished and in kits for beaders and stringers) plus a collection of beads that coordinate with each scape. Your possibilities for creativity will be endless. We conspire to inspire!

Time & tide adrift by the sea
This Time and Tide collection is knit up here in the Feather n Fan Organic Wrap which you see in these photos lounging about in the environment of inspiration. The colors are sands and golden sands, soft, watery blues and seagrass green. The bits of flotsam that scribble the beach are captured in the textures and flecks that weave in and out. It's a colorway inspired by the ocean's ebb and flow, perfectly atuned by the wrap's undulating currents.
Remember how the shoreline bring's textured treasures? Well, I'm capturing that mix as best I can through the current market's rich offering of yarns. Some Time&Tide kits may feature flecks of shell pink, rivulets of coral, or tiny bits of creamy white but the overall visual effect will always be the same: a neutral mix punched way beyond neutral. Here's a color combination that flatters nearly every complexion with its balance of cool and warm. It's perfect for those who don't want to wear colors that leap at the eye but rather ambush it gently with detail and subtle delight.
Stay tuned on more about Inspired and Adorned's offerings. We're working hard to get the site up and running as soon as possible but it will take some time. In the meantime, here's more photos of my inspiration....
