OF FROSTED PEACH AND SCARVES TO GIVE AND RIVER READING

Frosted Peach Scarf brrrs on my rock
Dearest knitter friends, it is nearing the end of November. How did that happen? Where was I (oh, wait a minute, I remember...)? Here we are caught in the season's mad bustle of shopping, eating and hopefully rejoicing. I believe I gained a pound just by sniffing the delectables appearing in the stores. Okay, so honestly, a friend gave me a jar of Stonewall Kitchen's dulce leche—pure, real caramel syrup-- and my fate was sealed. Gift received two weeks ago. Jar now empty. Apply deductive reasoning.
Are you still finding time to knit? You must or your sanity may become frayed at the edges. I've just posted a scarf recipe for an easy but lushious gift-giving idea that will keep you knitting for purely noble reasons. The prime star of these confections are diva ribbons in either silk or some other glossy fiber mixed with a primarily monochromatic color mix of yarn (any fiber, any weight). Try Hanna or Bagsmith silk or spring for Veranda by Fiesta or Seque by Trendsetter. Pockets as shallow as a puddle these days? Try any delectable ribbon. If you invest in the more expensive versions, just remember you can usually get multiple scarves from just one hank. Click on 'Free Patterns' from the menu on the side of this page for more info.
Meanwhile, when I'm not knitting to stay sane, I take a moment nearly every day to walk down to the river for a little reflective reading. River reading is such a mind calming process and river words always flow simple and true. Here's some recent messages to ponder for those of you who do not have nearby rivers to read:
