CULTURE FUSION WRAP

Culture Fusion Wrap
Silver, bronze and rust mixed together with artful black, this wrap emerged one day as I transversed a nomadic mood. I think of myself as a periodic cultural nomad, someone who explores the world for short, intense, forays only to come scurrying home to zip up the driveway behind myself for weeks on ends. I confess, I want both adventure and the comfort of my own little nest.
Culture Fushion is a three-pointed wrap, with each point long and spangled. Dripping off along all sides are i-cords bearing gold, bronze or pearlized discs gleaming like some exotic charm wraplet. Tili Tomas bronze beaded silk in 'Burnt Pepper' forms the base with Great Adriondack's 'Leopard' surprize mingled in between streamers of Trendsetter's silver Joy.
It's wild. It's a wanderer's wrap if there ever was one.

I loved it the moment I put it on. I told myself I'd never part with it. But then a customer who loves a statement piece called me up to ask 'what's new?'. I showed her this one and now it's winging it's way across the continent (no, wait: winging it's way southward) and I have an excuse to make another. This time I may decorate the cords with found objects.
My mood is going nomadic these days, in any case. In a few days time, John and I will be flying to Morocco for the holidays to meet Anice and Amal in Marakesh (stand by for January photos!) where hopefully I will meet Berbers and prowl the souks for silks and beads. This may just be the most exotic shopping experience 've ever had, that is if I don't count the market in Zimbabwe where a witchdoctor tried to lure me into his stall to take snippits of my hair. Apparently redhair is very powerful mootie in Africa.
Happy holiday preparations, everyone.
