If it’s Monday, I must be in Santa Fe..

One of Santa Fe's beautiful doors
I love my home, everything about it from the river to the garden and all that lies between but I have SUCH a sense of wanderlust. Always happiest with at least one (preferably two or three) trips on the horizon, I love to see my yawning suitcase half-stacked with expectations . So, I'm off again, this time to Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of my favorite spots. No matter that the temperature is hot enough to roast a turkey buzzard, Santa Fe will always draw me with it's density of art galleries and fiber magnificence. That place is cooking, especially this time of year. Hope I can find the occasional pool...
This time I'll be teaching a workshop at Oodles (will return with pictures) on the afternoon of Saturday, July 14th, dining with friends, and getting to meet Patricia Werner, author of Dazzling Knits http://www.dazzlingknits.com/Home.htm . Patricia, one of my favorite creative designers, is coming to my workshop along with two of her students. If you've never seen her work, check out her website and you'll see why.

The workshop will be an afternoon of adventure knitting with a focus on creative expression with yarn as the medium. I'm out to lead everyone on a rule-defying jaunt through fiber explorations. Who knows where we'll end up? I'll begin the session with a bit of 'yarn whispering'. Yes, folks, YOU CAN TALK TO YARN and it will answer you. This, however, takes years of practice but I'm hoping to give participants the short course so that they, too, can babble in fiber.
And, I must go to La Lana to stock up on hand-dyed yarn for the Knitaly kits. Everyone attending Knitaly will receive a kit of yarns through which they will experience the Tuscan countryside. Only certain yarns will do. So, you see I really DO need to travel again.
