From the entry 'ELFWARE: or what I want to wear for this part of my life'.
Yes, it is truly clear, we do hide behind various persona to shield the real sole. When, we allow real real persona to appear in life, the freeing is frightening..thus, not readily accepted by our peers. The freedom, to be who you are is the great gift on earth..to enjoy speech, thoughts, color, dress and to have that excillarating inter feeling, can't be measured. Because, you are then forced to be true to only yourself. You need not work for outer acceptance...Live life too the fullest..

I love this post - I love the knitting, the colours, its so beautiful, and I love what you wrote about dressing your age. If there's anything I really hate, its pigeon-holing people into these tiny boxes defined by others and how they think we should be. Cheers to the kingdom of elves if you be one of them!!

You wise woman, you! Again, your article resonated with me about Dressing Your Age. In the day of Brittany type lingerie tops/pregnancy type tops, and all manner of silliness, it is difficult to find ANY thing to wear. Here's to women expressing their own inner selves...........so be it.

I get that feeling from all of the shows on that program - it depresses me that they take what a person is and try to fit them in a mold - I know the first thing they would do with me is cut and color my white hair - ummmm NO! It took me 55 years to learn to love my wild curls and white hair (that started turning gray when I was in high school) and for all those years I tried to wear what other people deemed right - I'm finally getting to the point that I like me and I will be me no matter what anyone else says - I don't have to dress for a job anymore and if others don't like it and because of that think less of me - well they really weren't my friend then anyway if they can judge like that - I plan on being the eccentric lady with the big white bun on her head and the fun clothes when I grow up :) can you tell this show and attitude is a big ole rant causing thing for me --

I love this wrap and I love these colors! Please tell me what yarns you used. I enjoy your perspective on life and I have never followed these "dress your age" unspoken rules!! Living in Hawaii, bright tropical colors are accepted on all ages; however, when I visited the East Coast last fall, there were many comments from middle age women who liked my style and made comments I wish I could wear that! Of Course I told them they could and one lady said maybe if you lived near me I would have the nerve to wear bright colored jackets and wraps and scarves like yours! One, a professional women in a hotel commented that dressing in color coordinated outfits brought the attention from my age (70) to my style of dress! interesting idea, but I am still 70 and loving color. Keep up the inspiring work you do! Aloha!
