SAFE HAVEN

I need to tell you something, dear readers.
You may have noticed that rarely do I make comments concerning world affairs or delve into politics of any kind. I have made no mention of Haiti or any other disaster, natural or manmade, that erupts across our globe on a near daily basis. Please know that this is not because I'm so tucked away in my own pocket that I neither notice or care. Nothing like that is true. Far from it. Not talking about world affairs is a concious decision: this space is a no-fly zone.
Why? I know all the world disasters affect you as deeply as they do me. You hear the news, read the papers. You've made your personal decisions regarding donations and none of that is my business. My business, then, is giving you a place to land where topics of an uplifting nature tend to rule the day. I want this site to be a kind of safe haven against the fracas of global tragedy, a place where you can see lovely photos, consider knitting something interesting in glorious colors, and read words of an inspiring nature. Inspiration is what I seek to offer here not reminders of things you already know. This is your personal relief. Consider it a question of balance.
We all need a tiny place to go where things appear to be all right with the world, where the cries of anquish are stilled, where we are reminded that not everything is in chaos and we are free to experience a little peace, maybe even dream a little. So please feel free to dream away…
