For me, colour and texture rule and most of the inspiration feeding my imagination comes from the natural world. I see knitting as art, as viable as any other, and no matter what the tool or preferred palette, in human hands, magic happens.

New Design for The Inspired Knitters Club

 A new design has just been sent to members of the Inspired Knitters Club 2015 Art to Wear, this one much simpler to construct than the tunic but just as much fun to experience. Short rows still reign but they are kept in check by more linear lines that are worn diagonally across the body. The piece includes doses of 'random intarsia' (who needs charts), seed stitch and garter. I mean, really, this is simple. The whole piece is trimmed with i-cord witg leafy dangles.

Around the World in what Seems like Eighty Days

It's been what seems like two months of constant travel--different vistas, different knitters, great friends and fabulous times. In the past few months I've been to Taos, Santa Fe, Pompei, Naples, Toulon, Mykonos, Athens, London, Calpe in Spain, Barcelona, Florence, the Amalfi coast, Istanbul, Kudesai on the Turkish coast and I'm probably forgetting something somewhere. Oh, yes, Venice!  How could I forget Venice? My brain is spinning with memories I can't really believe are my own. Was that me in little Civita (Italy) sipping wine under the grape arbor in an ancient town? I can't even drink wine at home but there I was having wine with lunch and still able to function afterwards. Unbelievable.

I really find vacation pictures boring if I haven't been to those places but I thought I'd show you a few. This was a knitting cruise, afterall, though we didn't have much time for knitting. At least one of us finished our projects while away but most were off touring or taking advantage of on-board entertainment. Most of us knit a little every day like taking our vitamins: knitting, our tonic of choice. Read on if you'd like to see the photos. Otherwise, just know this: AFTER ALL THE GLORIES I'VE SEEN, I LOVE HOME THE BEST!
