WORKSHOPS COAST TO COAST

TWO URBAN CADRES
*
An Urban Cadre is my term for a workshop retreat based in an urban center. Knitters fly in, meet at the designated hotel where we knit, eat, yarn forage, enjoy the company of like-minded knitters and explore something new in the workshop hours. My very first of these will be this July at Port O'Stitches, a workshop retreat based right here in my own hometown featuring Ilga Leja and myself. A breath of salt air, lovely boutiques, an optional drive to the south shore to visit a yarn shop plus all the Fleece Artist yarns you can handle spells the perfect way to spend a few days in July.

And then, if the Atlantic coast doesn't work for you, how about joining me on the Pacific side? San Francisco is one of my favorite North American urban centers with notoriously lovely yarn stores. Not only will we be staying at the funky little boutique hotel, the Triton near Union Square, but one of our workshop days will be at the Art Fibers, a treasure trove of textured and exotic yarns perfect for my style of knitting. Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
