THE Story Coat Begins

Every Life tells a Story. What's yours?
The Story Coat is not strictly chronological since we’re not knitting an autobiography but rather life’s symbolic elements.
Imagine a special silken bond with a child or spouse becoming a color carried through the entire piece or the bumpy strand of a
physical challenge carried along in a textured yarn and you’ll grasp the idea. Think symbolically.
Imbue every yarn and color used with meaning. As we progress, I’ll give many suggestions for the symbolic use of stitches and colors
to help your coat unfold. My own unfolding coat will serve as an example as I share my story through stitches.
There's nothing ordinary about this knit along. It's special and as unique as you are.
The first chapter will be posted to members of the Inspired Knitters Club this weekend.

I love the idea of the garment telling your life story.

Jane, Your first posting for the coat knit-along for members is BRILLIANT! Not only is the knitting instruction itself super, but your writing and personal insights into the different parts of our lives is fabulous. I truly feel that I've found a kindred spirit because you and I share the same love of knitting, color and texture...and having deep insight into what has made us who we are today. Thanks so much!
