THE COLORS OF SANTA FE

Burnt earth and adobe

As you read this, I'm still romping around New Mexico but hope to entertain you with all photos taken on my travels upon my return. In anticipation of my absence, I spent the weeks before my departure compiling timed journal posts so you wouldn't forget about me while I was away. Besides, I love doing this: sharing colors, yarns, thoughts, photos, designs. It's a bit like a stream of conciousnous for my days since I ponder in color, dream in color and scheme about color constantly. Everyone thinks I work all the time. As if this is 'work'. I remember work from the first part of my life. Work means doing many, many, things you don't want to do for money, position, recognition or gain. These days I don't 'work', I live. Much better.

So, where was I? Oh, yes: the colors of Santa Fe.  One of the inspiration clusters (check the July issue of my newsletter for more details on how to make your own) gathered the color elements of Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of my most favorite places in North America so far. This basket contains mostly Fleece Artist silks with a bit of Tili Tomas beaded 'canyon' Silk Plie threaded through by turquoise.

Recent Comments love it. Another stunner. I can think of many dragon color ranges from my boys pokemon card collecting days! Blues eyes White Dragon was everyone's favorite.
