OF COUNTING BEANS JUST AS THE WEATHER WARMS

Knitting shell: part of this month's Inspired Knitter
I once had a colleague who would launch many a statement with the words: "I've been very remiss lately…". It wouldn't matter if he were confessing to a serious error or some other lack of judgement, his way of framing the admission won support and understanding. No doubt that gentile, old-fashion, phrasing saved the day. So…I've been very remiss with my blog…a whole week without posting! What's happening?
Well, too much, as it turns out. I've been working away at the Leaf Lights Evocative Guide, putting the finishing touches on the new Inspired Knitter's club website and DOING MY TAXES. Urgh! Taxes are the bane of our collective existence this time of year, aren't they? Just when we'd rather spend our free time getting outside in the sunshine (yes! There's been a sighting six days in a row!) here we are, counting beans. Here I sit listening to the ducks landing in the river (finally free of ice), hearing the geese flying in from their holiday camp in Florida, straining to hear the whisper of the tulips coming up while BEAN COUNTING!
But after dark, it's back to knitting and thinking summery thoughts. Besides knitting leaves, I have been evoking gardens on my needles and dreaming of my own suffused with sweetly-scented blooms.

Bah Hum Bug on all taxation. So glad mine are done and sent in. Hope you get some rest soon. Not good for the health to burn the midnight oil. Melba
