KNITTING IN TAOS, PART TWO

The Road to Taos Knitters May 2010

I'm home at last, back to a moist spring morning in my own backyard but, as so often is the case, I'm already missing my knitting friends from the trip—Carol, Janie, Jeanie, Linda K, Jo, Donna, Trish and Faith. There's something so satisfying with spending time with those who love the same things you do: an unabated passion for yarn, combining colors, textures. To do it all in amid the glorious spring of Taos is just so much the icing. And the food! We couldn't believe how good the food at the Mabel Luhan Lodge was—we never wanted to eat anywhere else.

We ate, we knit, we laughed, we shopped and did very serious yarn foraging. All good. All very, very, good.

Next year, we're booked for the end of June for the nextannual Road to Taos excursion. Details will follow in my trips area soon. Meanwhile, I'm already getting excited!

Your description of the trip to Taos, NM took my breath away and stilled my multi tasking mind long enough to help me think, "I will get there one day with my knitting girlfriends too." Anne

Wow, what a lovely post! I really enjoyed reading this and love your photos, too! A few ladies from my knitting group and I will be venturing to Taos for the Wool Festival in October. Now I am even more excited for the journey! :)

Greetings Jane, I have lived in Taos, New Mexico for 10 years. My family and I just last year moved to the Pacific Northwest. I enjoyed your story of Taos. It is a very magical place. I do suggest that you plan a trip to Taos in the fall...the first weekend in October for the Taos Wool Festival. It is AMAZING! And don't fret...just about anyplace you eat in Taos is fantastic...Let me know if you'd like a little local insight in places to eat or shops to visit. The Yarn shops in Santa Fe aren't too shabby either:) Happy knitting, Rachel Harper

What a fantastic trip! I would also highly recommend a trip to the Taos Wool Festival, it was always the highlight of my 10 years in New Mexico.

Recent Comments love it. Another stunner. I can think of many dragon color ranges from my boys pokemon card collecting days! Blues eyes White Dragon was everyone's favorite.
