KNIT EAST: The Martimes First Knitting Conference

Designing buds, Ilga Leja and I, settle in to hear Stephane McPhee. Behind us sit Lucy Neatby and Cat Bordhi
The energy of a knitting fest sparkles with like-minded people communing with others about their passion of choice: knitting and yarn. What sounds dull to the unintiated is anything but to those who truly 'get it'. Hey, our keynote speaker, Stephanie Pearl McPhee, informed us of recent studies highlighting the positive effects of knitting on the brain afterwhich she proceeded to crack us up with laughter. I just have to state that my brain fared very well at this event. Besides teaching Knit A Beach and Free-Range 101, I laughed so hard, tears streamed down my cheeks.
Okay, so I lost my glasses and my favourite jacket but, hey, considering how much I travel, I'm surprized I don't lose more!

Knit a Beach was a wonderful class, and if you ever get a chance to take a class with Jean, go for it! She has an unrivalled sense of colour and texture, a real inspiration.
