IN THANKS

A BIG THANKS
Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! Today I wish you bountiful feasts of all things delicious in the company of friends and family along with a few quiet moments where knitting wraps around you in peace and tranquility during this holiday period.
Here in Canada we celebrate Thanksgiving early in October, ours being a harvest celebration and our harvest being earlier in the season relative to our neighbours to the south. Turkey and pumpkin pie feature for us, too, though no Pilgrim Fathers make the scene. Usually I miss Thanksgiving since I'm travelling in Europe most Octobers but this year I happened to find myself at sea onboard a Holland American cruise ship. One evening after dinner I chanced to ask the dinning captain if Thanksgiving dinner might be available in a few night's time for the hundreds of Canadians aboard and he promised he would make it so. And he did! Delicious turkey, delectable stuffing and pumpkin pie! Above you'll see the photo of the cake they made to welcome us to the feast that evening. I soooo enjoyed that meal.
This week, while it's regular business for many readers, to the US it's a time of feasting and giving thanks. So, in thanks to all of you, during this week only I'm offering one free pattern of equal value for every one purchased. Just order the PDF online as usual and email me for your gift. In the meantime, enjoy the time wherever you are.
