CALIFORNIA YARNSCAPING

Jane models Julie's stunning Feather&fan wrap
All right, so I love California. Any excuse at all will send me scurrying to the opposite coast to cavort in the state's sunny beauty but when it also means meeting new friends and playing with feather & fan wraps, cardis and shrugs, no need to ask me twice. Beth Marx, who I met on Ravelry, invited me and, months later, I was staying at her cousin, Judy's ,house being hosted by both Judy and Beth plus Ricki—three amazing, creative and lovely cousinly women with whom I feel I've been friends forever. For two days we indluged ourselves in the Feather & Fan club, showing off our wraps (so many beauties), launching new creations, and knitting. Knitting with like-minded new friends is bliss by any description but stir in good food and great aromas wafting up from the kitchen and it just reaches Nirvana-like heights. Down in the kitchen, Judy cooked us up amazing feasts with grace and aplomb, wowing us all with the goodies while we frolicked with our yarm. It doesn't get any better.

Are we happy or what?

Beth and I
I also celebrated my birthday Pacific-side, touring the famed Route 1 from San Capistrano all the way up to San Francisco through Big Sur, Moonstone Beach, and other coastal delights. I bet you think I'm going to season the stew with tales of scenic delights? Please: I was knitting. Of course, I looked up occasionally and even took a few photographs but remained otherwise engaged. However, I did consider doing a Knit A Beach California retreat. Ready for that?
When I looked up from my knitting, here's what I saw (among other things):

Big Sur

Hearst Castle
But, admit it, you want to know what yarn I bought, don't you? And maybe what I'm working on now. Well, I'm going to tell you everything in the next posting. Until then, feast your eyes on more workshop photos here: http://www.mystudio907.com/Studio_907/Workshops.html
