Awakenings…

Besides working on excursion and workshop details, taxes (ugh) and breathing in the new spring scents outside, it's still a mixing of elements for jewellry (Canadian spelling)  while knitting in the evening. Two new knitting designs are coming up along with plenty of new jewelry (American spelling) creations. I design jewelry the way I knit: by mixing diverse elements into an expressive whole.

Above, an amethyst druzy is wrapped in sterling around a silk fiber bead and mixed with amethyst, art glass, silver and pearl. For some reason, my camera refused to capture all the subtle colors here.

Deep Water is all Peruvian opal, aquamarine, crystal, art glass and copper wire-worked into currents for sea lovers everwhere.

Among the Leaves has Lisa Kahn's beautiful glass leaves, heishi pearls, agate, brass, a porcelan butterfly below a silk bead. Silk ribbons floats above for the tie, making this necklace totally adjustable.

Much more to come. Some of these are going to a boutique for sale and others will be placed on my website.

Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
