THE AFRICAN KAL HAS ONLY WINNERS

Winning Mary's vest front
All of the following designs are based on the Great Zimbabwe vest, a front-crossed vest which many modified for a straight front closure. All are different, each are a testiment to the creative spirits of knitters set free to explore color and texture. More information on both the knitters and their projects can be found on Ravelry in my JaneThornley group. Check my next posting for the two other design interpretations from the guide: the Swahili Basketweave vest and the Safari and Savanna Not-a-poncho. Amy Montevaldo's Road to Marrakech vest really brings home the joyful color of Northern Africa

Dutchie (Ravelry name) smoothed her colors out to a soft, lovely, colorway which looks great on

Amy again proves that a joyful exploration of color works in her funky African Trade Beads Vest
