Pondering Birthdays

For these birthdays, I'm just glad to have made it this far. As I said to a ninety-six year old woman the other day, it's an honor to grow old, despite the misconceptionds the youth culture foists upon us. Not everybody makes it. Not everybody has had the benefit of decades. Complain though we may at all the idignities of failing this and failing that, our bodies have taken us through the years. Give them a break without breaking them.

I hope younger women will lose the fear of ageing, to know the years ahead are rich and varied. Being ageless is about energy not wrinkles.

Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
