Here you see me wearing mine on my deck under the maple tree with the hostas and astilbes abloom all around. Do you have a good stash? Dive into it to make this shrug since it takes any weight, any yarn. Mine was fashioned from light worsted HandMaiden silk Mini Maiden, Alchemy Silken Straw, a hank of Great Adirondack's Luccia ribbon plus many small amounts of whatever I had on hand. I may yet use that ribbon to thread through the yarnover holes.

The sleeves are formed by whip-stitching the two feather & fan ends together to form a loose cuff. Skip that and you'll have a wrap or a well-ventilated scarf.

All my July kits come with this pattern and several have the gorgeopus Luccia ribbon. To purchase the pattern solo, click here: http://www.janethornley.com/blog/index.php/knitting/patterns_shrugs/

Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
