For me, colour and texture rule and most of the inspiration feeding my imagination comes from the natural world. I see knitting as art, as viable as any other, and no matter what the tool or preferred palette, in human hands, magic happens.

Pins

A long time ago a friend and I were foraging through a knitting store in California when we stumbled upon these pins. We loved them! Not only are they light and therefore not prone to snagging delicate stitches but the surface colors are so organic-looking and lovely. Since thenm, I've been commissioning the artist to make special colors for my kits and designs. Here are those currently available:

Safari and Savannah Pin

A combination of browns, white, gold and bronze evokes the hues of the African savannah in this light-weight clay pin. Add a touch of the ethnic with a closure that won't snag or bag your knitwear.

Price: $35.00

Quantity: (5 available)

Great Zimbabwe Pin

Here's an African-inspired clay pin with a black background that coordinates with so many wearables, including my African designs. The Great Zimbabwe pin above combines black, grey, white, gold and bronze to evoke the stony hues of the Great Zimbabwe monument in Zimbabwe. These pins are light so won't snag or bag your knitted pieces plus they add a touch of mystery and sophistication.

Price: $35.00

Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
