My Little Free-rAnge Vest: Pt3



This is my favorite part, the adding of bits, modular-style. Up until now, my vest back has been a bit too skinny for moi but now the time has come to begin tailopring it to fit. The next step is to determine how much you need to add to your sides/shoulders to create your perfect fit. I generally do this by visual estimation, something that tends to work better for me than math ever did. So, next steps:


  • Pick up stitch for stitch along the entire long edge of your emergining vest and begin knitting…

    MY LIttle Free-range vest Knitalong. Pt



    How are you getting along? I've heard from many of you with the main question being: 'but my back isn't that skinny'. Believe me, mine isn't either but, because we'll be picking up and knitting along both side edges, the skinny center piece doesn't matter. In fact, if achieving a lean line is your objective, this style will enhance your shape. Trust me. Your piece may look a little odd right now but it will grow up lovely.

    My little vest emerges


    So, how's it going? I know how hard it is to stop once you've launched a knitting project so I've given you a bigger chunk to knit this time. So far we've launched with about 2 inches of seed stitch, which, in my case, weighs down  and sturdies up the bottom edge.

    From here, I changed yarns to the Banyan cotton, a thinner…
