For me, colour and texture rule and most of the inspiration feeding my imagination comes from the natural world. I see knitting as art, as viable as any other, and no matter what the tool or preferred palette, in human hands, magic happens.

My Little Vest-A-Long: the story continues

vest62_512

My little vest gets it's first experience with the sun

Sorry to be a day late in continuing with our vest-a-long but my allergies knocked me out of commission yesterday. Nevermind, I am back in the game and bringing you the next installment. Here is where we are now: fronts and backs semi-complete with the whole ensemble waiting for custom fitting.

As you can see from Headless Hilda above, the vest is close…

MY LITTLE FREE_RANGE VEST KNITALONG: PT:5

Pardon for the lack of stellar photography but, once again, it's raining so my light is some what eclipses. Still, I'm hoping you get the gist of where your little free-range vest is heading. by way of illustration, I doned my emerging vest on Headless Hilda so you can see where the fronts will fall. I've worked about another 6 inches since last posting while still casting on at the neckline every 4th row. I then draped the piece over my own body to see how far I should keep increasing. Recent Comments I am delighted to find that you also write. I've been following your knitting site and was so happy that your novel is about an angel in New Orleans, well, maybe not "about" an angel, but it's in the title, so... I've visited New Orleans several times (Just 3) visiting my brother when he lived there and we combed through the cemeteries. That's where I found the angel who was sobbing with her head covered in grief for the passing of her sister. It was so moving that I have the photo framed in our hall. She's beautiful. Couldn't wait to order your book! Thanks!
